On the first Monday of every month, my Garden Share Collective updates will cover three main things along with any extra's I throw in and well, you know me so there's bound to be plenty!
But in each post, I will be sure to cover what I've planted lately or will plant soon, what I've been harvesting and my plans for the coming month! It was started by Lizzie Moult and is a lovely group of gardeners from all over the world and I'm happy to say I am the first Canadian involved! Follow this link to learn more about it!
and now...let's get started!
One of classes the other day was a fun workshop on creating herb planters so i also picked up a few different herbs and have them sitting in a pot on my windowsill. This includes some sage, thyme, basil, rosemary and a few others though at the moment I seem to have forgotten what they were.
So yeah, thats all I've planted though I have plenty of seed packets waiting on my return back home and so in a few weeks I'll be planting like crazy...so next month this section will probably longer yet!
I don't encourage eating anything if you aren't sure if its poisonous or not but if you do, you do so at your own risk. I will encourage you to do plenty of research first though and even if its said to be edible, start in low quantities.
Plans For April
I have all kinds of things to plant though I still haven't set out a garden plan and I know I should. I still have a couple of weeks though so...no rush! My main goal for this month is to pass all my finals since they're coming up soon and then once they're over I'll begin to focus on my garden once again.
When I do get home, I know exactly what I'll do, heres my list
-Meet with the fam!
-Get a haircut
- walk around the garden and finalize my garden plan (which I hope to have created by then)
- SLEEP! SLEEP AND MORE SLEEP!
Hahaha, well okay, I have more plans than that but that is a basic overview of my first few days and once thats done I'll be connecting with local schools to help develop horticulture programs. I'll also plant if the weather is right and weed like crazy to catch up with any weeds that started to grow while I was away.
I'll only have a week or so after returning home before you get another Garden Share Collective update and so I'll be sure to write out exactly what I did do in that update and I'll also have a better perspective of whats going to happen next! Should be fun and I am quite eager to get home! Anyways, that's all for my first ever Garden Share Collective post! I hope you enjoyed it and be sure to come back for the next one on May 5th as well as all of my regular posts in between!
