What Is Garden Connect?
Garden Connect features gardeners from all over the world growing an identical garden in a 2 by 6 foot plot. Each gardener plants and grows the garden and shares their experiences throughout the season via social media or on individual blogs. If you would like to grow along with our community of gardeners then you should join us! More on that below.
Want to see who is participating?
Check out the Garden Connect Participant's page!
What Do I Have To Do?
Interested in joining? Here's the garden plan for 2015. As always, it's a 2 by 6 foot (about 60 cm by 180 cm) plot and you can plant as much or as little of it as you would like. And if you want to swap something out, go right ahead! We are here to have fun and are very flexible.
Read the Garden Connect Plan Announcement post here for more details such why each plant was chosen for the plan and how many plants to put in each space.
Now that you've decided to join us, there's a few things you'll need to do but don't worry, we're here to help you through it and if you ever have any questions or concerns, just let me know. You can get in touch via the form on the contact page found here.
So What's Next?
1. Decide how you will share your experience, you can create a blog, tweet about it on Twitter, make videos, or just post pictures on Instagram. There are a variety of ways you can share so decide what works for you. No matter what you decide, please share the project with your friends and encourage them to join, write a blog post, send out a tweet (use the hashtag #GardenConnect) or post a photo (you can use one found here if you'd like) to announce your participation and to help us spread the word.
2. Stay Connected. Each month, I'll be sending out a newsletter with an overview on how my own and other's Garden Connect plots are doing. You will need to sign up to the newsletter to receive it. You can do so here!
3. Introduce Yourself. For those of you with Facebook, there is a Garden Connect group where you can post the link to your updates and chat with other members. Here's The Link, Pop on over and click Join Group in the top right corner. I'll need to accept you to the group but once I've done that, feel free to introduce yourself and share the link to your blog, Twitter Account ect.
4. Check Out The Participant's Page
The Garden Connect Participants Page Found Here shows everyone who is participating and links to wherever they are sharing updates. Make sure to check it out and don't worry, I'll add you to it as soon as I can!
You're All Done!
Welcome to the group, information about updates and posts can be found a little further down the page and if you have any other questions or issues just let me know using the form found on this page. We hope you enjoy participating as much as we enjoy organizing everything for you and remember tell your friends! We want as many people as possible to join us!
What Do I Write About?
Not sure what to write about, that's okay, I've compiled this list of questions which may help you as you write. You do not need to write about these topics nor are you confined to them. They are there to help inspire you if you get stuck.
How Will I Know When To Write?
You are welcome to write whenever you have something to share. The goal is to have each member write once a week or biweekly at the least but we are not going to pressure you if you feel as though you have nothing to add nor will we stop you from writing every day. We want everyone to have fun and if you can write about your garden twice a week or more, you are encouraged to do so.
Is There Anything Else I Can Do?
Know anyone who might be interested, tell them about it! That is the best way to show your support! Then grab a badge for your blog's sidebar. If the one below is too big or too small, check out the variations here.
