That said, I did cheat the other day. I decided to spare ten seeds, five Basil and five Red Lola Darkness Lettuce, for early planting! It helped to make me feel caught up having heard that almost everyone else has started some seeds or prepped their garden beds!
So while these seedlings will never have anything to do with Garden Connect, it was peace of mind! I have however, finally tracked down and picked up all the seeds I will be needing for my plot. Other than the peppers and tomato (which I'll be buying as seedlings from a garden center) I have everything including the Lemon cucumber which I picked up while at Canada Blooms!
I'm hoping that when I return next month, my garden will just be warming up since an early melt would give the weeds a head start and a late melt would just be disappointing! So hopefully the weather stays chilly back home...though I would love some warmth here in Niagara!
Elsewhere in the world, Garden Connect plots are a little further along! Richard from Lost The Plot said he had planted nearly everything and some of it including the onions, spinach, carrots and parsnips were starting to show. Suffikboi has decided to do something truly unique but I'll leave you to read it yourself. As for the others,. well, they're all moving along as well. I heard Fiona's been tracking down seeds (and quite successfully!) and Ryan has just begun that task.
Of course it's still early so many of the plots aren't anything more than seeds in the soil and well, there's nothing to show other than a plot of soil or a few potted plants destined to go out once the weather warms! Luckily we still have plenty of time and then the comparisons of how everything grows will truly begin! I can't wait, it's going to be a great year!
Until next time, take care and happy gardening!
